MATH STATION # 7
EVEN'S AND ODD'S
Skill Content/Objective: Students will determine whether a group of objects is an even or odd number.
Materials: Game Board-1 for each group of two students
Dice-1 for each set of partners
Odd/Even cards for game-1 set for each set of partners
Answer Key for each set of partners
Description: Board game on Even's and Odd's. Students, in partners, take turns drawing a odd/even card. Each card has a set of snacks on it. The students should count aloud the number of snacks and determine if say if they are even or odd. If they guess correctly, the student rolls the dice. If an even number comes up they go ahead 2 spaces. If an odd number comes up, the student goes ahead one space. The winner is the one who reaches the last space on the board first. Although not on the site, when you print the answer key, I would cut them apart and write the number of each card on the back. This way the students won't look at the whole key for the answer, but can find the number of the card and turn it over to see if it is even or odd.
Assessment:
Formative: Listening for students correctly determining if set of snacks is even or odd.
