CLIMB THE LADDER
Skill Content/Objective: Children will count on by 2's
Children will count on by 5's
Children will count on by 10's
Children will understand that when counting by 2's and 10's they are counting even numbers
Children will understand that when they count by 5's some of the numbers are odd and some are even
Materials: Pencil for each student
Copy of Ladder Worksheet differentiated for students by Color
Description: Climb the ladder to the top skip counting by 2's, 5's and 10's. Students should say each number as they add it to their sheet. Have students note if numbers are even or odd by putting an "E" or "O" next to each number.
Differentiation: For students who need more support, have the ladders start with 2, 5 and 10 at the bottom-Color Blue.
For students who need more of a challenge, have the ladders start with off numbers, such as 37, 61, 28, etc.-Color Red
For student who need more of a challenge, have the students start at the top of the ladder and count down by 2's, 5's and 10's.-Color Red
Assessment (Formative and Summative):
Formative: Listening to students as they skip count for proficiency and speed to demonstrate competency
Summative: Review worksheet for competency.
